Language Screening Tests: Preschool and School Age New, culturally
and linguistically authentic measures of development and delays in children’s
acquisition of Arabic. There are two parallel versions; one for preschool
(ages 3-6 years) and one for school-age children (ages 7-13 years).
The tests evaluate listening and understanding spoken Arabic (receptive
language) and speaking and getting ideas across to others in Arabic
(expressive language). The items are designed to probe language at several
linguistic levels -- meaning (semantics), word structure (morphology),
sentence structure (syntax) -- and remembering spoken language. Norm-referenced
scores provide two sets of Pass/Fail criterion scores at each one-year
age intervals. One set of pass/fail scores is onservative with cut-off
scores at -1 standard deviation below the mean. The second set is strict
with cut-off scores at -2 standard deviations below the mean. Guidelines
are provided for administering the test and interpreting the results.
A case-history inventory is provided to assist in obtaining background
information for referral and diagnostic language testing. All instructions
and items are in authentic and appropriate, colloquial Arabic. Test Components:
Examiner’s manual, two stimulus manuals, record forms with permission
to copy, case-history form. Both tests are included in purchase price. To place an order, please contact us by email at orders@krii.com, by phone at 817.572.6254, or by fax at 817.478.1048.

Receptive-Expressive Vocabulary Test A new, culturally authentic test of the acquisition of Arabic vocabulary for ages 3 though 13. Items are grouped in two sections. One probes listening and understanding (receptive vocabulary) and one naming and speaking (expressive vocabulary). Norm-referenced scores allow examiners to compare an Arabic-speaking child's level of acquisition to normal growth curves and rates for Arabic language acquisition. Discrepancies between the receptive and expressive vocabulary abilities are quantified. The test results translate easily into language intervention and educational goals for classrooms and clinics. All instructions and items are in authentic and appropriate Arabic Test Components:
Examiner’s manual, two stimulus manuals, record forms with permission
to copy, case-history form. ISBN 0-9638925-6-8 $150.00 To place an order, please contact us by email at orders@krii.com, by phone at 817.572.6254, or by fax at 817.478.1048.
